MESA Smart Manufacturing Community: Digital Thread/Digital Twin

MESA Smart Manufacturing Community: Digital Thread/Digital Twin

Wednesday, May 15, 2024 (12:00 AM - 12:00 AM) (CDT)

Description

The concept of a digital twin has gained significant attention in various industries, as it offers a virtual representation of a physical entity or system. However, not all digital twin models are created equal, and it is important to understand the characteristics of a good model. Current state models will need to be flexible to solve future problems, adaptable to simulate and predict potential future state scenarios and outcomes, and sustainable to ensure reusability for new problems that change with a variety of business conditions.

Topic: Characteristics of a Good Digital Twin Model

The concept of a digital twin has gained significant attention in various industries, as it offers a virtual representation of a physical entity or system. However, not all digital twin models are created equal, and it is important to understand the characteristics of a good model. Current state models will need to be flexible to solve future problems, adaptable to simulate and predict potential future state scenarios and outcomes, and sustainable to ensure reusability for new problems that change with a variety of business conditions.

Learn from each other as we discuss:

  • What are the characteristics that make up a good DT Model?
  • How do you assess if your DT model can be flexible and scalable enough to solve future problems?
  • Should current state DT models be reused to handle your company's next set of challenges?
  • Is there a “Best in Class” DT model? Or can a series of integrated DT models accomplish this goal?
  • What are the specific best practices for creating a good DT model? Is there only one process for creation?
  • What are the measurements / KPIs for a good DT Model?
  • Can you provide any specific examples that demonstrate a good DT model? What made it so good?
  • How do you predict the next good DT model? Who should be involved? What determines future state?
