The Digital Thread concept involves the seamless integration and flow of data throughout the entire product lifecycle, from design and manufacturing to maintenance and end-of-life phases. The convergence of these technologies opens up a plethora of revenue-generating use cases that organizations can leverage to gain a competitive edge and fuel innovation, i.e. predictive maintenance, allowing organizations to monitor the asset's health in real-time to help predict and prevent potential failures or breakdowns, optimizing maintenance schedules, reducing downtime, and minimizing operational costs.
