We seek to understand the state-of-the market, understand what companies have done that has or has not worked, documenting questions that MESA and the community can help answer. Overall, the goal is to accelerate each participant’s learning and progress toward Smart Manufacturing. 

Topic: Do Size, Mode, and Location Affect Smart Manufacturing Adoption?
Company demographics such as size, country or region, even type of manufacturing may affect the need for and progress towards smart manufacturing goals.

• Do the smart manufacturing processes and goals differ between small, medium, and large organizations?
• How much does company size and primary focus affect planning for adoption and implementation?
• Do companies vary in adoption due to their location (e.g. North America vs. Europe vs. Asia vs. South America vs. Africa)? How does historical level of industrialization and economic development impact this? What role do government programs play?
• Clearly Smart Factories look different in process vs. batch vs. discrete vs. mixed mode. Are there also differences in ability to move forward effectively?
