The "Making Manufacturing Analytics and AI Matter” report: Click here
This is the 2025 edition of the MESA Analytics and Metrics that Matter survey-based research. This survey of hundreds of practitioners provides a clear view of how AI is really working for manufacturers and producers. The research covers topics including:
- Smart Manufacturing status, impact, and goals
- Analytics benefits, descriptive examples, and the use of AI (including generative AI!)
- Building models for generative AI with data management and governance in mind
The report also includes takeaways and recommendations to help turn our research into practice.

This is the latest episode of the “MESA Knows Smart Manufacturing” podcast, hosted by Chris Monchinksi, the chair of MESA’s International Knowledge Committee. It helps explain how a good maturity model can drive business objectives. It’s not just an assessment of current state - it’s also a way to drive continuous digital transformation.
