Topic:  Rearchitecting the Supply Chain or Improving Visibility to Counter Unpredictability

Two weeks ago in the Factory group, we discussed reshoring manufacturing. That’s just one element of how companies are reimagining their supply chains to counter dramatic changes in the geopolitical situation and the ensuing unpredictability of supply and production locations and needs. We will explore :

• What are the top objectives for your supply chain to be successful today?
• Access to materials that are prevalent in certain regions has long been an issue for manufacturers. Are there specific materials or sub-products your company needs that pose challenges right now? How are you managing it?
• Are you making significant or high-level changes in your supply chain and ecosystem of plants and partners? Either way, how is that going?
• Or, since uncertainty continues to reign, are you focused on what you can do in the short-term? Possibilities are increasing visibility (to item-level in every location, for example), improving collaboration and communication (internal and with partners), moving to JIC from JIT, and forward buying or production to stock.
• How do supply changes create challenges in your production facilities?
• How can technology support your strategic moves?
